We have added a Google Map of Green Wizards and ask you add your location there too when you post your introduction. This will help as we plan upcoming meet-ups and get-togethers, as well as letting you know who else in our community may be a nearby neighbor.
If you don't want to be too specific about your location, put the marker in the general area, and then in the description, write something like "Eastern Missouri". If you have a blog or website, you can add it as well.
I've set it so anyone can edit it and add their location. Feel free to add yours.
Here's how you do it:
Click on this link - Green Wizard Map on Google
The map will come up, then log into your Google account. If you don't have one, you'll need to create on. Once you are logged in this screen will come up.

Zoom in to your general location in the World using the Zoom Bar. You can move the map around by placing your mouse on it, holding down the left click button, and then moving the mouse.

Zoom in as close as you would like, but we recommend you don't place it on your actual street address, for obvious privacy concerns. Once you are as close as you want to be on the regions, click on the "Edit" link above the Green Wizards title. A new window will appear.

You want to click the "Add a Placemark" button. When you do, a placemark will appear, and for some funny reason the map then sometimes wants to scroll upward...lol. Move the new placemark with your mouse to the place you want to to point to, then let go.
Now, click on the new placemark and a new menu will appear.

Please use your screen name on the Green Wizard's Forum for the title. This is so other Green Wizards can look you up in the member's directory on the Green Wizard's site, if they would like to contact you.
In the description place your location. It may be a town or a general region, like "near St.Louis, Missouri". Remember we just want to know who is in the surrounding area so we can let those people network, contact nearby members or let them know about whether they are interested in a nearby meet-up, or perhaps some event being held nearby.
Also if you own a website or blog that you think fellow Green Wizard's might be interested in, feel free to post a link in the description.
(NOTE: Please use your judgment here on over commercialization, but if you own a store and are offering Green Wizards a discount, feel free to post that...lol. If you need help with the link or the html code needed let me know.)
Once you've finished editing, click the "OK" button. This will close the place mark box.
Now click the "Save" button to the left of the map, followed by the "Done" button.
Congratulations, you've added yourself to the Green Wizard's World Wide Map!
You can if you like, log out, then see that you successfully added your location.
(NOTE: You can always log back in and edit what you have posted. I have the permissions set so anyone can add a placemark, and cross my fingers, we won't have problems with spammers or vandals.)

Thank you, and if you have any questions feel free to either post them on this thread, or email me directly.

I'm not sure I want to create an account with Google, however I do not mind --even appreciate-- if someone else could create a marker for me. I am in St. Louis, MO in the Southwest Gardens neighborhood, west of Kingshighway, east of Hampton, north of Arsenal, south of Southwest. I felt okay to add such ticky detail since I see that at least one St Louisan is a moderator or something of the sort, so perhaps would be able to stick a pin in the map appropriately. Many thanks.
